The introduction offers a contextualization of Canadian studies, starting with the cultural diplomacy that projected an image of the country from the Massey Commission onwards. The aim of this book is to propose a transnordic journey by investigating the multiple voices of the North, focusing on Canada as an important actor of this region. Even though there are obvious similarities in landscapes, spaces and social problematics in the northern countries, it is not possible to serve a discourse merging the different Norths.
